Unions Support the Performance Rights Act

The Performance Rights Act has received broad support from groups thought of as both Left, Right and Center. Among the legislation's strongest backers are labor unions representing workers across a diverse set of industries. In the recording and music industries, the American Federation of Musicians and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists are founding members of the musicFIRST Coalition.
At the state and local level there have been dozens of statewide labor federations and city-wide labor councils who have thrown their support behind paying musicians fairly. The AFL-CIO's official blog has been covering the issue for more than a year. Read some of their posts here, here and here.
